John Tradescant the Younger (1608-1662) was an English horticulturist who journeyed to Virginia several times between 1628 and 1637 to collect specimens to bring back to England. He introduced American trees such as magnolia, bald cypress, and tulip to English gardens, along with plants including phlox and asters.<\/span><\/p>\n
