Román, in addition to restoring textiles, carries out a thorough investigation and research on various subjects, as a result of which he found the technique of the twisted feather. A pre-hispanic technique that made painting feathers with natural dyes such as indigo and brazil-wood and then joining them by twisting them together, spinning them in a single thread.
Román has helped the Museum of Oaxacan Textiles to restore many pieces and has won multiple awards such as the award for The Best Rescue Work of Old Pieces in the National Contest of Great Masterpieces of Folk Art.
This museum piece is a living example of Roman´s talent and imagination. A hanging rug which is composed of wool thread, twisted feather thread, and leather.
