This finely crafted piece was made high in the mountains above Thailand, Laos and Burma (modern day Myanmar) by an indigenous hill tribe. The Yao people are skilled silversmiths who produce incredibly detailed, hand-wrought jewelry for rituals, religious ceremonies and weddings, as well as everyday use.
This beautiful, lightweight, neck ring features a hollow tubular middle and flattened down-turned ends. The incised geometric decoration on the ends is a traditional motif symbolizing a bird head and beak. It is mounted in a fitted glass and wood frame. Measurements reflect display case.
