This hand loomed thick pile wool rug would have been used for sleeping on or under during the cold nights in the Himalayas. These rugs would also be used draped around the shoulders as a blanket. Measures: 5’3” x 6’3”.
Its woven on a small loom and sewn together from 5 individual panels. This is the traditional nomadic technique for making traditional carpets in the Himalayas. This rug would be suitable as a throw rug in a low traffic area such as a bedroom or it could be used as a throw on a sofa in cold weather. Its woven from excellent highland Tibetan wool.
