Thai ceramic covered box from the Sawankhalok kilns. High shouldered round form with a slightly convex flat lid and small boss finial on top decorated in brown and white glaze of six flower petals on top and a peaked zigzag design at the shoulder. The body decorated in a white foliate scroll pattern with brown glazed background. The unglazed base of a gray biscuit and faint traces of a pontil firing scar. Minor repairs to the rim of the interior lip, otherwise fine condition. Measuring: 3 inches high x 3.5 inches in diameter. (7.7 x 9 cm). 9.4 oz. (269g). 14th/15th century.
