Patinated bronze Southeast Asian rain drum or frog drum that could also serve as a drinks table. The drum has a tall tapered, waisted form. The drums are typically from east Burma or Myanmar made by tribes of the Karen people to summon rain. The drum has handles on each side for hanging. The top is decorated with concentric circles having geometric shapes and centered by a sunburst or star motif with an applied verdigris finish. The bronze has a patinated finish from age. This stool is one of two available with matching dimensions and form. From an estate in Malibu, CA.
