A stunning Ghanaian throne chair, early 20th century. Wood (potentially mahogany) with iron studs and original cowhide seat. Curiously, part of the metal on the backrest reads «made in Germany» , but the style of the chair and the metal forged symbol on the back are clearly Ghanaian; the chair was purchased directly from a Ghanaian collector whose ancestors had imported the piece from Accra. There is some wear, so please inspect the photos. Pick up in central West Los Angeles or we ship worldwide; please don’t hesitate to reach out for alternative (ie cheaper) shipping quotes.
