Vintage Design
This elegant pair of floor lamp was produced by Bergboms in Sweden in the late 1940s. This particular design is model G-31 and is underneath marked on the base with this number.
The design is characterized by the striking three legged base leading to the central tube, all in a matt brass with a beautiful natural patina. The central brass stem is covered in a smooth and soft cognac colored leather. This detail adds to the refinement and craftsmanship of the piece. Brass light fittings and shade holders. The wide, slightly tapered shades have been renewed in a white linen fabric with a wonderful texture. The shades allow for a very pleasant, soft light distribution.
Other designers working in the same Scandinavian Modern lighting tradition include Paavo Tynell, Hans Bergström, Severin Hansen and Hans Agne Jakobsson.
