A Tribal Indian rustic Chakki grinder table from the early 20th century with hand-carved geometric motifs, open center, carved feet and weathered patina. Created in India during the early years of the 20th century, this grinder table is called a Chakki. Traditionally used to grind grains to flour before collecting for cooking, these wheels are richly decorated on their outer edge. Our Chakki table is adorned with carved geometrical patterns made of stylized star motifs, highlighted with ribbed accents on their upper and lower borders. Raised on shaped legs, the table draws our attention with its great character, dark patina, and skilfully executed décor. This Indian tribal Chakki grinder table from the early 20th century could be used as a pedestal on which a plant could be displayed.
