Antique Burmese kalat lacquered offering tray, Shan States, Inle Lake, circa 1920. Assembled from wood and rattan covered in red, orange and black lacquer. A simple circular form with 11 turned spindle uprights and broad rimed woven tray with dynamic hooked spiral pattern in two rings rendered in black on a red ground. The underside with some unique markings in red on the orange ground. Minor cracks to the lacquer surface and normal signs of wear otherwise fine condition.
