Antique Asian and extremely detailed cast bronze fragment of the head of Buddha, dating from the 18 century and presumably having Thai or Tibetan origins. The sculpture fragment is securely presented on a simple teak block.
The bronze head on its own measures 8.80 inches in height X 6.5 across from the back of the head to the tip of the nose.
The base on its own measures 4.80 inches X 3.80.
The bronze head is not fixed to the base and can be lifted on and off with ease.

Condition:DistressedWear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. Given that this by nature is a ‘fragment’ of what was once, presumably a complete statue of Buddha, the neck area shows an obvious break. That said, the existing casting is complete and displays no chips, repairs or any alterations to the patina.
