This is a sensational pair of 19th century antique Burmese silver repousse Thabeik bowls, both richly decorated in the round in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology and history, showing very detailed figures, animals, chariot and trees the whole scene is set against a finely chiseled matted background in landscapes. Around the top chased with scrolling foliage, bands and geometrical triangular patterns perfectly proportioned complete this intriguing design. The base decorated with large over-lapping leaves. These extremely decorative bowls rest on three silver ball feet. The lower bowl bearing a lotus flower mark, the taller is not marked with the makers mark on the base but it boasts the same quality. Wonderful design and shape, crisp quality, lovely patina which emphasizes the three-dimensional high relief.
They will certainly be a lavish addition to any decor, statement centrepieces in pair but each bowl can be sold individually.
They are both in perfect condition with no damage.
