Unique 19th century copper Mahakala mask of Tibetan origin. This mask features a fierce looking creature with opened eyes and mouth with fangs and teeth showing. The masks served to ward off evil spirits and are among the most important symbols of Tibetan Buddhism. Made of sheet copper and decorated with enamel beadwork of semi-precious stone of red coral and turquoise beads. Has wire hanger on reverse side, ready to be hung as a statement piece in any home.
